It probably only works in Europe. Edam is a famous cheese from the Netherlands. I’ve been there, it’s lovely. But all their cheeses are kinda loosely-named. I guess they’re “in the style of” but not necessarily “from the place”.

I can’t really tell much difference. I enjoyed the spectacle of the cheese market in Alkmaar. They dress up in traditional garb and it’s a good photo op.

I’ve had cheeses in the Netherlands, the ones I had were not called Gouda or Edam, but they tasted quite similar. But I guess it’s like anywhere.

Never been to Rotterdam except to catch the ferry, but yeah, used to like Amsterdam too. We used to stay in the Alkmaar area, about 3/4 hour from Amsterdam.
