Deeper Memories

On the music blog I co-host, Songshine Sounds, we challenged people to name a song that reminds them of their schooldays. This is my second response.

One of the teachers at school had the nickname Gordon. Can’t think why.

If you think that’s bad, we also had one called Bondo (hint: not because of his name!). Boys schools, those were the days…

I love how raw this track sounds, even now. Like someone just came in, picked up a guitar for the first time, then hit record. Which is probably what happened. And, before you pass judgement, this song was a big hit in the UK (#4) at the end of the Seventies!

        1. Do you think WP could handle it? Seriously, there was a lotr of feminist stuff back then – the good thing about punk was that there was no gender bias whatever – but musically, most of it was rubbish. Hearts in the right places, although the few bands who were commercially successful were generally ridiculed by punks themselves.
