In response to Fandango’s Who Won the Week posts, I have been looking at my own newsfeeds.
But how on earth do you pick a winner in this?
I’m not going to talk about Afghanistan. If I said what I really think, I’d just alienate too many of you.
This war was the single reason I became active in politics again, I was against it from the start and demonstrated – in my Thirties – against Bush when he came over to London to drum up support. Twenty years down the road, how far did we come?
I get it.

I am so angry with Biden.

You shout redirect your anger toward Trump, who promised to get us out of Afghanistan and set the stage for this disaster. But Biden hasn’t handled it well, either.

Bush set the stage for the disaster by going in in the first place, I think. Neanderthal. To our shame, we elected a shill who followed him.
The trouble is when we elect these Barbarians it reflects badly on the whole of our nations.

I think the answer to the question is The Taliban, whether we like it or not! 😒

A totally botched affair. But this seems too easy for the taliban. I think it’s very fishy how quickly they have seized the country

It doesn’t surprise me, Sadje. The whole of that country grew to hate the regime propped up by the USA. That might have been kept under wraps for years but it is in the open now. That is the USA’s legacy. Again.
