Welcome once again to Flashback Track Friday. Each week, either KK or Mister Bump will present a song to you, and out of that song, will prompt you with a question.

I had the idea today to feature an artist I like. I chose their track, though, because I thought of a good prompt question. I chose this performance purely because of fashion!

This is Breakaway by The Beach Boys. It was one of their last big hits way back in 1969.

The Audition

inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 9 July 2021, garish.

For The Voice, shirt mixed mustard and brown,
Bright green slacks only served to compound,
Though her costume was garish,
Her singing was fairish,
And she found herself through to next round.

A conscripted dance-teacher sublime,
Taught his comrades to foxtrot in time,
But this cultured old pedagogue,
He penned his own epilogue,
When regrettably stepped on a mine.
