inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of of 27 April 2021, abhor.
She had married a husband so mean,
Was expected to cook and to clean,
How she’d hate and abhor,
All her newlywed chores,
So she poisoned him with Paris Green.
I had an interesting chemistry lesson while writing this. Better known as Paris Green, Copper Acetate is an emerald green compound that was used as a pigment and was favoured by artists such as Monet (1840 – 1926) and Cezanne (1839 – 1906), who used it excessively in their works.
It is also so poisonous that it was used as rat poison and insecticide, even in their time.
Artistic choice of arson. 😉

An interesting postscript.

I lucked out with the rhyme but, yeah, I thought it was quite interesting. There is a bean that is poisonous too, I think, but the back-story of this was impossible to resist.

A very artistic method of murder. I always appreciate it when somebody does something a little different. Great Limerick, well done.
