Ceramic Panic

inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 3 December 2020, refuge.

While attempting to flee from a blaze,
The poor potter abandoned in craze,
His shed was all burned,
But the pots that he’d spurned,
Finished up with a nice purple glaze.

Crossed Wires

My friend sent me this:

An operator at an Emergency Call Centre has been fired, much to the annoyance of colleagues, who are reportedly unhappy at the dismissal.

A caller dialled 999 from a mobile phone, stating: “I am depressed and lying here on a railway track. I’m waiting for a train to come so I can finally meet my maker.”

Apparently, “Remain calm and stay on the line” was not considered to be the appropriate response.

Kipper Killer

Our granny was randy old sod,
Which hastened her meeting with God,
While bedding her lover,
His partner discovered,
And beat granny to death with a cod!

Okay, it might have been a rod, but I thought it more amusing that she was dealt her mortal blow by a fish!
